Energy levels are often relfective of our lifestyle. Diet, sleep, movement and stress play an important role in our energy. Take a look at how we recommend sustaining your energy levels throughout the day!
Start with breakfast: The first meal of the day should be low sugar and high carb to sustain energy. Find something fulfilling and satisfying, like a veggie-packed omelette, yogurt parfait or granola; here are some of our favs at AWAKE:
Move! Consistent, regular exercise can help keep energy levels high. We're not talking CrossFit here; try walking, hiking, taking the stairs instead of the elevator, anything to get the blood flowing!
Keep Stress to a Minimum:Unplug, Breathe, Meditate, Relax! It doesn't hurt to indulge in a little chocolate now and then either!
Hydrate! This one should be relatively self explanatory but with all of the new hydrating drinks on the market these days, treat yourself! It makes it easier to hydrate when the drink is FUN (like our AWAKE bites).
Keep a Consistent Routine: Sleep is important for a number of reasons but one of the most important reasons is because a better night's sleep means you're more likely to be more productive during the day
Limit Alcohol: Again, self explanatory. But hey, our bites are just as good as a glass of bubbly or a pint.
Get Outside! Sun exposure increases energy levels and keeps you more alert. Spend your lunch break outside, wake up 15 minutes early to get a quick walk in, swap the evening news for an evening stroll.
Take Your Vitamins! Everyday vitamins or energy vitamins - they're all out there, but here are some of our favs:
Caffeine! Now this is one we can definitely get behind. We believe caffeine can be a part of a healthy routine and we all know caffeine comes in may forms, but we prefer our AWAKE bites! We also recommend limiting the amount of caffeine you consume, to less than 400 mg / day and if you're sensitive to caffeine, not having much after 2pm.
Listen to music! We love a good beat. Upbeat, rhythmic tunes can increase alertness, motivate physical activity, and even reduce feelings of fatigue, making it easier to stay active and focused.
